Silver jumps 20% in January
31-Jan-2012 When I said silver was looking extremely cheap at the beginning of the year even I wasn't expecting such a massive leap in such a short time. With demand for industrial use now outstripping supply the precious metal is already up 20% in the first month of 2012 and I believe that is just the start. I know there are plenty of silver bugs amongst my readers and your patience after the sell off in 2011 is now being rewarded. Industrial demand for silver, from solar panels, batteries and medical applications and growing investor demand for coins and bars is diminishing a supply surplus according to a recentvreport from Bloomberg. This has led to silvers best January gains in 30 years with silver up over 20% from below $28/oz to nearly $34/oz.
